Small and portable is not expensive! Another panoramic VR camera strikes

With the launch of more virtual reality devices, people are starting to pay more and more attention to 360-degree panoramic cameras. In the VR field where content is relatively lacking, panoramic cameras can become creators of VR content, so their market prospects can not be overlooked.

Recently, Weeview Company of Japan officially launched a small camera called “Eye-Plug” that can be installed on the USB interface of a mobile phone. The device supports Micro USB and USB Type-C interfaces. The official website sells for 4999 yen (approximately 331 yuan).

Eye-Plug is currently only available for Android phones and supports Android 4.2.2 or later. The iPhone version is not yet available.

It is reported that Eye-Plug panoramic camera has two matching applications: "Eye-Plug 3D" and "Eye-Plug Photos", which are used for shooting panoramic video and panoramic photos. This dual-lens expansion module has a compact appearance and weighs only 6g, which looks like a portable U disk. Its lens is equipped with an F2.0 large aperture lens, shooting photos with a size of pixels, and 3D movies up to 720p/30fps.

At present, panoramic photography equipment on the market is not rare, but the products and prices are uneven, so many consumers do not know how to choose. The likes of Nokia's OZO and Jaunt VR's Jaunt One are all top-of-the-range panoramic shooting devices, but the tens of thousands of prices are prohibitive for ordinary consumers. And most of these devices are heavy and not easy to carry, I believe only professionals can choose.

As far as the domestic situation is concerned, the C-end user is still more attractive in terms of cost-effectiveness and portability, and it can meet daily shooting requirements. Eye-Plug, with its advantages of space-saving, portable and low-cost, is believed to be a strong competitor for portable panoramic cameras such as Samsung Gear 360 and Insta360 Nano.
