An international team of scholars from Russia and Japan’s Hosei University started work on the fabrication of hybrid planar structures based on graphene and quantum dots.

Graphene has a very high electrical conductivity, making it a very promising material for nanoelectronics. Igor Nabiyev, a scholar of the Nano Bioengineering Laboratory at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Engineering, said: “We will carry out scientific research, let people know how to increase the efficiency of existing solar cells, and ultimately develop solar cells that are more efficient than they are now. sample."

After the completion of the project, a new generation of high-efficiency system samples will be obtained, which will be extremely competitive in converting sunlight into electricity. Nabiyev believes: "The efficiency of the new system will increase by several percentage points, and it is expected to bring about a breakthrough in the field of renewable energy."
