Harting announced the launch of three Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) starter kits. The development kits all include the hardware and software required for basic applications to help companies deploy industrial logistics networks. According to the company, these three kits are now available.
Among them, the MICA CISS Complete IIoT starter kit is used for basic condition monitoring. The kit is equipped with a sensor that can measure seven parameters, including vibration, acoustics, temperature, humidity, etc. The sensor is connected to HarTIng MICA, which is an edge computing device that can process, calculate and present all data from the sensor. MICA comes with pre-installed software, which includes a dashboard that displays all sensor readings.
The MICA RF-R300 Complete RFID starter kit contains everything needed for RFID asset tracking applications: industrial RFID tags, MICA RF-R300 readers, two antennas and cables. MICA comes with a pre-installed demo version of HarTIng certified Ha-VIS middleware, which can convert the original RFID signal into a modern software protocol.
The MICA Basic Ethernet Starter Kit uses communication protocols such as Modbus-TCP or OPC UA to connect peripheral devices via Ethernet. The kit contains the cables needed to get started, as well as the basic version of MICA and software. Like the other two starter kits, this kit has fast network connection, 8 digital GPIO ports, and can be powered by PoE or 12V/24V.
