Two years of ban on the introduction of high energy consumption air conditioners are still available

June is the peak season for sales of air conditioners. June 1st of this year coincides with the second anniversary of the revision of the “Energy Efficient Limits and Energy Efficiency Ratings for Room Air Conditioners” in China. The new national standard stipulates that the threshold for fixed-frequency air-conditioning energy efficiency levels is from the previous 5 levels. Raised to level 3, however, the reporter found during the investigation that some businesses still sell on-line four-level and five-level air conditioners that have been banned from production and sales.

Seen on the Internet, Daikin and other brands of Class 4 and 5 energy-efficient air conditioners are still selling in a grand manner. For example, a Daikin 4 fixed-frequency cabinet model FVY71DQV2C (R22) is still on sale at a price of 10,480 yuan. In addition, in some small and medium-sized cities, "5-bar" air-conditioning can still enter the store in a grandiose manner, with "commercial non-domestic", "buy one get one free gift" and other forms of market circulation. Moreover, for the elimination and destruction of high-energy-consuming air-conditioners, China has always relied on corporate self-discipline. In the production of air-conditioning energy efficiency testing, but also by the merchant sampling inspection, this way, it is inevitable that high-energy air-conditioning is still popular.

As early as June 1, 2010, after the implementation of the new national standard for "Energy Efficiency Limits and Energy Efficiency Ratings of Room Air Conditioners" for air conditioning energy efficiency, the original five energy efficiency levels have been adjusted to three energy efficiency levels. Level 4 energy-efficient fixed-frequency air conditioners have even been eliminated and have been explicitly prohibited from sales. Moreover, the energy efficiency ratio of the original five-level energy efficiency air conditioner is around 2.6, and the energy efficiency ratio of the first-level energy efficiency air conditioner under the current grade reaches 3.6. This means that if the consumer is greedy and cheap and chooses to purchase five energy-efficient air conditioners that have already been eliminated, then to achieve the same cooling effect, it needs to spend 1.3 times more electricity.

After consulting Suning's air-conditioning sales personnel, it was learned that this part of Class 4 and Class 5 energy-efficient air-conditioners still on the Internet is not only power-hungry but also mostly produced in 2008 or even earlier. Although there are intact packaging, some parts will inevitably cause problems. In addition to this part of the product has been discontinued, if there is a problem that requires replacement of parts, there will be no replacement.

In addition, the Ministry of Finance, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have jointly issued the "Circular on Printing and Distributing the Implementation Regulations for Energy Efficient Products and Energy-efficient Room Air Conditioners" (hereinafter referred to as the "Detailed Regulations"), clearly stating that domestic air conditioners must be used from June. From the 1st of the year, one-year promotion of energy-saving subsidies will be carried out. Constant-speed and inverter air conditioners with energy efficiency levels of 2 or above can be subsidized up to RMB 400. However, these high-energy-consuming air-conditioners that are still on the Internet are not only unable to enjoy the country’s energy-saving subsidies, but also have related problems with after-sales and maintenance. Therefore, air-conditioning sales staff recommend that consumers buy air-conditioning, they should try to avoid the high-energy air-conditioning on the Internet, and the second-level energy-saving air-conditioning as the first choice.
