Transformer parallel operation overload capacity - Database & Sql Blog Articles

inductance

The parallel operation of the transformer refers to the operation mode when the primary and secondary windings of two or more transformers are respectively connected to the common bus on the primary and secondary sides. When multiple transformers are operated in parallel, some transformers can be stopped when the load is light, and the remaining transformers can still provide the necessary power to the load, and can also reduce the loss and improve the economy.

The ideal operating state of the transformer in parallel is: when the transformer is unloaded, there is no circulating current between the transformers, and there is still only the respective no-load current; after the load, each transformer can distribute the load reasonably according to the respective capacity ratio. In order to achieve this ideal parallel operating condition, the transformers operating in parallel should meet the following three requirements:

1 The connection groups of the transformers are the same (must be met);

2 The rated voltage and ratio of each transformer are equal;

3 Each transformer short-circuit impedance has the same value and the same impedance angle.

When one or all of the above three items are not satisfied, the safety and economic operation of the transformer will have adverse consequences.
