It turns out that when the raw material is deposited on the substrate, it is only necessary to increase the temperature to improve the OLED screen. When the temperature reaches a certain condition, the material changes from a glassy state to a rubbery state. For many organic materials, this temperature is about 100 degrees Celsius. Researchers can create "ultra-stable glass" by heating the polymer to a temperature of 80-90% of the conversion temperature.
The researchers tested with four commonly used phosphorescent emitters and found that life was extended by 15% and energy savings by 15%. Next, researchers will test new technologies with more OLED materials. Then it depends on whether the heating technology can be used in the manufacturing process without adding too much cost.
