2. Data sampling depth

The quantization error of the returned data is actually not small, as if it is only for display. It is observed that the quantization error of the returned data is very different under different ranges; in addition, under the same range, fine-tuning the unit of each grid (xx V/div) will also affect the quantization error. However, for the sampling rate of 10GS/s, it is not easy for the AD to achieve 10 bits. I don’t know if there is an oscilloscope with low sampling rate and high sampling depth. If not, this is also a market.

3. Storage depth

There are two types of oscilloscopes in the laboratory, one with 2k sampling points and the other with 10M sampling points. If you want to sample a 4s signal, the sampling rate that can be achieved with 2k points is only 500, but for an oscilloscope with a 10M storage depth, the sampling rate can reach 2.5M. Of course, I have tried to export the result of 10M, and the result is saved as a file of nearly 500M, tragedy.

4. Data processing

You can delete the first few lines of the exported csv file, and then import the data with Import data in the workspace of Matlab. The data of 1M points can be easily plotted by Matlab, which is amazing.

5. DC coupling

In the case of DC coupling, adjusting the vertical offset does not affect the result of the collected data.

Through the failure analysis of the damaged digital oscilloscope, it is found that the main cause of damage is floating measurement. The following are the operation/use precautions to prevent damage to the digital oscilloscope:

1. For the safety of the instrument operator, the instrument works normally within a safe range to ensure accurate measurement waveforms, reliable data, and reduce external noise interference; when used,

a. Measurement system-such as oscilloscope, signal source; printer, computer and other equipment

b. Electronic equipment under test-For example, equipment grounding wires such as instruments, electronic components, circuit boards, power supply for the equipment under test, etc. must be connected to the common ground (earth).

2. When TDS200/TDS1000/TDS2000 series digital oscilloscopes are used with probes, they can only measure the waveform of the signal (the signal under test-the signal ground is the earth, and the signal end output amplitude is less than 300V CAT II). Never measure the floating signal of mains AC220V or electronic equipment that cannot be isolated from mains AC220V.

3. The shell of the general oscilloscope, the metal outer ring of the BNC socket at the signal input end, the probe grounding wire, and the grounding wire end of the AC220V power socket are all connected. If the instrument is not connected to the earth wire when it is in use, and the probe is used to directly measure the floating signal, the instrument will produce a potential difference relative to the earth; the voltage value is equal to the potential difference between the point where the probe's earth wire contacts the device under test and the earth. This will bring serious safety hazards to instrument operators, oscilloscopes, and electronic equipment under test.

4. If users need to measure switching power supply (switching power supply primary, control circuit), UPS (uninterruptible power supply), electronic rectifiers, energy-saving lamps, inverters and other types of products or other electronic equipment that cannot be isolated from the mains AC220V for floating signals When testing, a high-voltage isolated differential probe must be used.
