The ice coating of some power lines in the south did not affect the electricity supply during the Spring Festival

The reporter learned from the China Southern Power Grid Company that during the Spring Festival, the power supply in the five southern provinces and regions was sufficient, and there was no mistake in avoiding the peaks and limiting the power situation. Affected by the continuous low temperature, rain and snow conditions, ice covering occurred on some power lines in Guizhou, Yunnan and Guangdong. Nearly 50,000 employees of China Southern Power Grid stick to their posts, strengthen operational monitoring and emergency operations, and guarantee the security of the power grid and the power supply. The people of the five provinces and regions escort the happy and peaceful Spring Festival.

According to observations made by China Southern Power Grid at 17 o'clock on the 24th, there are a total of 174 ice transmission lines covering 110 kV and above, including 124 in Guizhou, 31 in Yunnan, and 5 in Guangdong, and 16 lines with an ice ratio greater than 0.5.

According to the person in charge of China Southern Power Grid Corporation, China Southern Power Grid will implement de-icing through measures such as direct-flow ice melting, exchange ice melting, and manual de-icing to ensure that electricity supply is not affected during the Spring Festival. Since January 22, China Southern Power Grid has carried out ice melting on 11 routes and is planning to melt ice on another six routes. Through the above-mentioned measures, the ice-covering of some power lines in Guizhou and Yunnan did not affect the electricity supply during the Spring Festival.

According to incomplete statistics, during the Spring Festival, the 48,700 cadres and workers of the China Southern Power Grid system adhered to front-line jobs such as grid dispatching, substation operation, emergency repair, and 95,598 customer service. In Guizhou, the power supply department also set up 1,372 ice observation points and 1950 personnel during the holiday season, and stored 233 emergency response teams and 4,851 personnel. At the same time, it prepared emergency repairs for emergency repairs in the event of a dangerous situation. In Yunnan, 161 emergency repair teams, 368 vehicles, and 198 emergency generators (cars) are on call 24 hours a day, effectively handling power failures in a timely manner, and fully protecting the people's happy and peaceful Spring Festival.
