A few days ago, Toshiba Corp. (Toshiba CorporaTIon) launched a light-controlled relay that triggers LED current to be reduced by 80% compared to previous models.
The new TLP171 series uses high-brightness LEDs, which can control the maximum trigger LED current to 0.2mA, while the previous TLP170 series can only control the maximum trigger LED current to 1.0mA.
The reduction in power consumption allows developers to choose Battery-driven or direct drive from the microcontroller, which helps reduce the number of peripheral devices and reduce the size of the integrated design. The new products are suitable for replacing mechanical relays, safety systems, measuring and control instruments, factory automation control systems and game consoles.
