At that time, the knowledge of computer accessories was little known. The NVIDIA MX440 became the only accessory that made CS players the most familiar. Nvidia's game graphics are also deeply rooted.
GTX1070 graphics card out of the box
Technology is changing with each passing day. In June this year, the advent of the Pascal series cemented Nvidia's top position.
In fact, those who think that its tree, drink the flow of those who have their source.
This is MSI GTX1070 Founders Edition gaming graphics from smzdm products. It must be shared with Aunt Zhang for the first time.

Founders Edition is a public version of NVIDIA. It stands to reason that any brand is the same. MSI Afterburner is printed on the back of the package to prove that this public version also supports MSI's regulatory software. However, I have not seen N cards that do not support Afterburner.
Before buying a dark dragon, the interior packaging is almost exactly the same.
The attachments look a little cramped, and listen to friends saying that their MSIs are the same. However, these things are not useful, the focus is good on the graphics card.
Founders Edition came out and NVIDIA's signature public version of the turbo radiator covered the entire video card.
Each version of the public version of the heat has changed, and Pascal's radiator has been improved in many ways, from the appearance of a square to a diamond-shaped multi-line.
Turbofans are generally considered to be accompanied by high speed and loud noise. At the beginning, I thought so too. After using it, I refreshed my opinion on turbofans.
Graphics backplanes are not new, and there are many claims for backplanes. Help heat dissipation, protection, anti-deformation, loading force, in fact, the above effect will have more or less. However, seeing someone else's graphics cards have a backplane, they will inevitably feel lonely.
In addition to the backplane, "belief lights" are also standard in the era. If you remember correctly, the lamp of faith is created by NVIDIA.
The 8PIN external power supply at the tail provides 150 watts of power for the graphics card, and the power of the PCI Express interface has far exceeded the official 150W TDP specification. Excess energy can be overclocked pleasantly, but Pascal's overclocking path is somewhat conservative.

In addition to the VGA output interface is abandoned, the rest are spared. Among them, there are three open DP interfaces. Pascal series no longer provides VGA analog signal output, even if the use of interface can not be identified. The GTX1070 has two graphics SLI bridges that theoretically support 3-way SLI. However, verification from the local tyrants said that at present, only dual-card interconnection, is it a technical problem?

Platform collocation
Founders Edition, whether it is the flagship GTX1080, or the sub-flagship GTX1070, uses the same heat sink, which obviously has the advantage of lower power consumption GTX1070. In order to expand the advantages, I also offered the Mastercool NANO grease, which has a thermal conductivity of 11W/mk.
Then think about it, it is better to keep the most authentic GTX1070.
SLI is a black technology, and another MSI GTX1070 is ready. Fortunately, the home's motherboard also supports SLI.
I prepared two platforms for two GTX1070s. One is the now popular i7 6700k, and the other is the popular E3 1230v3. All silent frequency running Benchmark, that Z97 just for SLI only.
Stability test
To ensure stability, warm up with FurtureMark before running 3Dmark. Single card and SLI are interleaved.
NVIDIA SLI mode successfully turned on, identifying two GPUs.
The GTX1070 has a core protection technology known as the "temperature wall." The general default is to reach 82 °C will reduce the frequency, protect the graphics core. The GTX1070 Founders Edition maintains a high Boost core frequency throughout the Furmark Benchmark test.
Before that, turbofans may have a lot of noise, and loud noise is usually caused by high speed. It may be because of the 16nm FinFET process that the GTX1070 Founders Edition is not as bad as it should be. Almost no fan sound.
Since the graphics card is fully loaded and does not allow the fan to work 100%, I used MSI Afterburner to try and get the fan to pick it up. The result was 4000 rpm at 100% work and the noise was also very noticeable. It seems that Founders Edition hides a strong violent cooling pattern.
Good temperature control is not a good bird's case. Basically no one is willing to expose the platform of thousands of dollars for a long time. I think that putting the display card in the chassis is closer to daily life.
Regarding the chassis, I've got a lot of floor-to-ceiling, and now MasterCase Maker5 is used to install graphics cards. In my stack, only this one can hold six 14cm fans, then use it.
Since there may be differences in different usage environments, the screenshot data can only be referenced.
Before reading the relevant tests, the flagship GTX1070 SLI does not need to use a very powerful power supply. In order to make do with a set, here I used a wattage just V650, rated 650 watts of gold. However, nearly 450 watts of power was consumed during the double-card run of FurMark. Although there is still half the distance from the rated power, for the sake of safety, if you want to use it for a long time, it is better to recommend the top power supply with more than 850 watts.
Benchmark benchmark run points
Many masters once said that the biggest difference between computers and home appliances is that computers are divided into hardware and software. Numerous things have demonstrated that the effect of software on computer performance is far beyond imagination.
The current latest version used here is driven by 368.81. I hope to be able to use the most advanced capabilities of the GTX1070.

This is the data I ran out of two platforms, single card and SLI. All frequencies are default. Overclocking is not responsible.

Do you like to play games? I would also like.
Benchmarking is only a reference aid. The real game control only cares about the fun brought by the game.
There are many popular games, basic stand-alone and online games. Among them, due to various constraints on online games, the requirements for computer configuration cannot be too high. Stand-alone masterpiece has become the subject of test video cards.
GTA5 is my favorite game. The freedom of the world in the game makes me very yearning.
GTA5 comes with a Benchmark benchmark, and FPS captures FPS frame rates. Due to manual operation, there will be a certain degree of deviation.
I checked the NVIDIA official website SLI support list, GTA5 is also in the support list. After consultation, it was determined that GTA5 supports SLI, and that the GTX1070 has reached the peak in the highest-definition 1080P resolution. To obtain significant results, only 4K or higher resolution can be replaced. There is no 4K device on hand, which also means that you want to play full-efficient GTA5 under 1080P. A GTX1070 is enough.
Call of Duty 12, classic game masterpieces. However, I am not allergic to the theme of future technology because I often forget my skills when I play.
This game does not come with its own benchmarks, I repeated playing the same task twice, the results are a bit large. To be sure, the GTX1070's highest special effects 1080P Play Call of Duty 12 is as smooth as a minesweeper.
First of all, after the Tomb Raider 9 was patched, it finally worked properly, and the support for SLI was also very good. The current tomb 9 is mostly a version with an integrated N card patch.
Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag, this is a game with built-in FPS lock. GTX1070 single card can burst 1080P maximum effects.
The Crysis series has always been a famous game masterpiece. It is also one of the few stand-alone games that support SLI. The GTX1070 SLI clearly feels that the picture is running smoothly.
Radiation 4, a game masterpiece as good as GTA. The online evaluation of this game is uneven, including the issue of accusing hardware optimization. It can even search out many folk remedies for FPS, and it may be my software problem. Although the performance of a single card has met the normal game, after the experiment, radiation 4 is not a good target for testing SLI.
I also tried several games by the way, such as: Wizard 3 hunting, killer 5 forgiveness and battlefield hardship. The same single card is enough to run the full effect of the game, there is no obvious increase in the frame rate after SLI, which Wizards 3 is the best. It may be limited in resolution, or it may be like this.
Summary of experience
At present, the GTX1070 can handle most stand-alone masterpieces. As long as you don't pursue extremely high resolution, you don't have to worry about graphics performance at all.
For gaming graphics, my point of view is more for the game. Even if the overclocking is high, it will not reach the flagship level, but will increase the risk.
Through the experimental test of the group SLI, it is proved that many games support SLI is not yet mature. Even the single masterpieces are like this, not to mention the less famous games. Therefore, there is now an old video card that can't be thrown. Students who want to buy a group of dual card platforms to improve the game performance can dispel the idea.
In addition, the new core Pascal power control is very good, even if the SLI is loaded with only less than 450 watts, remove the CPU, motherboard, accessory fan and the like power, dual-graphics really need 350 watts or so. If it is a single card, energy consumption is even lower. In the past, no one would have dared to try without a kilowatt or more power supply.
I used two sets of platforms to perform 3DMark benchmark run points. The difference in scores with the project's graphics cards is not obvious. Explain that the old CPU will not delay the new graphics card. If it is the X99 platform, it is bound to reach a more excellent level.
The saying about different frequencies
These days have collected some wonderful things about SLI.
The most searched for is the statement about the SLI of different frequency cards. Some say that they run their own frequencies like the CPU cores. But there is more to say, running at the lower frequency of the video card.
Although there are two different GTX1070s in the hand, this problem has not been thought of. A great man said: "Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth." I took this opportunity to practice, and the results exceeded expectations.

Since the results of the practice are a little bit different from those on the Internet, put the system and driver version numbers first. In fact, the front has already explained.
The first is the FurtureMark, a stability test software that can be loaded on any GPU.
Here, the card inserted in the first PCIE is temporarily called "main card", and the card inserted in the second PCIE is called "secondary card (from card)".
The result of running down is that each runs its own frequency and the software responsible for recording is GPU-Z. Furmark did not synchronize the frequency of the two graphics cards.
3DMark benchmark performance reference software, where video card testing, its appearance rate is almost 100%.
From the line graph of the GPU-Z records, the video card frequency is more aligned with the MSI Duke, as if the vice card's GPU is forced to overclock.
Graphics Crisis 3 is one of the best games I have played with SLI.
As you can see, the two graphics cards share the GPU's frequency and usage evenly, but this frequency seems to be closer to MSI Duke.
By the way, I also played Crysis 3 in the previous tests. But I only looked at the frame number (FPS) and forgot the frequency of the graphics card.
It is gratifying that even if Founders Edition is still running with nothing at all.
The situation of the tomb 9 is the same as that of the island 3, and the perfect support of SLI makes the line chart very attractive. Only MSI Founders Edition has exceeded the default frequency.
I think I always used Duke as the main card, perhaps because of this. Now swap the two positions and try again.
There is still no change in the exchange of the position of the main card and subcard. It seems that this is not the reason that affects the frequency.
This voltage is normal, non-public version will reduce the voltage during the design. There are many reasons, and the radiator cost is one of them.
to sum up
GTX1070 is super cool, the quality and fluency can all be ignored. This is the biggest feeling this video card brings to me.
The previous group of SLI only considers performance and power consumption, completely ignoring the operation of the graphics card. After looking at the operating frequency of SLI, I could not find a reason.
Then I tried to adjust the two 1070 frequencies to the same, but obviously the software didn't have this ability. Then I couldn't find the right software. No way, I just gave up. Fortunately, there is no abnormal phenomenon such as crashes, which is more important.
I rerun the FurtureMark temperature again, using the 1080P benchmark. This time I turned off all the chassis fans, but the room was a 25°C air-conditioned environment, leaving only the 3DVC fans to serve the CPU.
Although it looks like the temperature is almost the same. However, the Black Dragon is placed on the first PCIE, very close to the second graphics card, and it is difficult to draw cold air. This is why the public version turbine is more suitable for group SLI. Second, when running Furmark, the frequency of the two graphics cards is not forced to synchronize. The low frequency contributes to temperature control even though it can run higher.
The Pascal made by the FinFET 16nm process is very powerful and the temperature control is completely within the acceptable range. The 2,000-rpm turbine is not really noisy. The general non-public version is also this level. Of course, you can also use the software to pull up to 100% (4000 RPM), so you can hear the sound of the fan.
The GPU frequency and voltage can be said to be very conservative, in return for a single 8PIN power supply. Inadvertently pulled the frequency to a level with MSI Duke, and did not see adverse reactions. The extra 6PIN may be used for other functions.
Then, my practice came here.
Little Genealogy, the current regular manufacturers produce qualified GTX1070, the core frequency can generally run at 1.9GHz, some excellent models even run to above 2.0GHz. Therefore, even if the GTX1070 is overclocked, it is still within its general tolerance range.
As long as you do not trigger to the temperature limit, it is already recognized that the block 1070 can run 1.9 GHz.
After two days
With a bunch of questions I found a deep kcal and learned about the true features of the Pascal core.
Originally, in addition to the core Boost frequency displayed on the GPU-Z, Pascal will continue to increase upwards. It will stop increasing at a certain temperature, and it will even lower the frequency when the temperature is too high.
The general idea is to adjust the fan and frequency to stabilize the GPU temperature at a certain level. This is somewhat in opposition to the previous fixed frequency approach.
There was also a discovery frequency that exceeded the value displayed by the GPU-Z. It was just a fluke and escaped.
If this is the case, it is very easy to understand, SLI is obviously still aligned to the low-frequency graphics. Since the predetermined temperature is not reached, both cards increase their frequencies at the same time. In fact, the previous generation of graphics cards also have this hobby, but the extent is too small.
It turned out to be the same thing. Then it is also very easy to understand the difference between different users' GTX1070 and 3DMark. Most of the time, the temperature influences the frequency increase.

In fact, I was on the machine during the day and wrote a post at night. I wrote this post as a journal. The above process was my test process. I tossed my machine for 4 days. I used 2 days to find the god. (Of course, not 24 hours)
I feel like perfecting a post like a course board, and then sharing it out to be a bit dull. I just like a diary to record what I want to do. This can also retain the entire test content and can be used as a reference.
The misunderstanding of SLI frequency is only a process of inquiry. However, the test data is real and can be used as a reference for the SLI of the GTX1070 group with different frequencies.
Pascal just came out soon, there are many new features. In addition to having the core automatically overclocked, we prefer to set it manually. Interestingly, the two GTX1070 I have tried hide the maximum fan speed. It is not hard to imagine this is a benefit. Students who want higher performance can try to increase the speed of the fan, and the frequency increase will be more forceful. The rest is the problem of constitution.
Finally talk about GTX1070. Today, games that support SLI are still in decimals. If you like fine and smooth game graphics, a GTX1070 is a good choice. Moreover, the requirements for accessories such as power supply and chassis ventilation capability are not high. As long as the CPU is not very weak, there is no shortage of games.
