The most important part of the PCB design process is "making libraries"-making the "libraries" of these components according to the data manuals of the components you want to use-schematic symbol libraries, PCB packaging libraries (3D models are becoming more and more important), components Device information description. Making the correct library is very time-consuming and laborious, especially for those devices with more pins and more complex pin definitions. You need to read the data sheet carefully (it is still in English, which may not be fully understood), and each pin must be guaranteed. The function definitions, labels, attributes, etc. are correct. For a new device with more than 100 pins, you don't spend more than 3 days on the library on this device, it is difficult to use it with confidence.
Fortunately, there are many resource-based websites in the industry that organize many senior engineers. They are also familiar with various CAD tools. Together with the original engineers (TI, ADI, Microchip, Maxim, TE, etc.), they have built a library of mainstream CAD tools. Documents, and publish them on your own website and the website of the original device manufacturer, which greatly facilitates the work of PCB design engineers, which means that you don’t need to build these device libraries by yourself, just download and use. Of course, some engineers have For your own style, you can only slightly adjust the schematic symbols of some devices, such as the size of the outline, the arrangement of the pins, etc., which will not affect its accuracy.
The author has compiled some well-known websites for the two PCB design softwares KiCad and Eagle that we recently introduced. The download links for the libraries of these two tools are provided above, and they are shared with friends who use these two tools.
1 KiCad official website () comes with the library download, which includes schematic symbols, PCB packaging, 3D model, by the way, KiCad's 3D view is a very useful tool. Therefore, KiCad's library basically has 3D model data.
2. Digikey (Chinese website), a well-known component spot distributor, has also cooperated with KiCad to make all the main components sold on its website a KiCad library for everyone to download. Of course, when you use KiCad to generate a BOM purchase list At that time, it pointed to Digikey's website. In other words, it is recommended that you go to the Digikey website to purchase these devices.
3. I have introduced Ultralibrarian() many times. This website can not only query the technical parameters and purchase channels of all components, but also the "library" of main components. It not only supports KiCad, but also supports almost all mainstream CAD tools. , Such as Altium Designer, PADS, etc.
4. SnapEDA()-This website has the same mode as the Ultralibrarian above, and it claims that engineers will no longer need to build libraries by themselves in the future. On this website you can find the schematic symbols and PCB package library information of millions of main components.
5. Samscsys () is also a website similar to the Ultralibrarian and SnapEDA above. It is listed here. If you can't find it on one website, you can check it on the other two.
